Jr. Royalty

Junior Royalty candidates should complete the required form. This form will include contact information, information about the child and their creative entry Complete candidate submissions must be submitted by Friday, October 2.

We want to make this opportunity available to new applicants each year, so previous Junior Royals will not be eligible to take part again. However, we encourage you to share this information with other families who may be interested!

Applicants will be asked to use their creativity to make, write or record a video responding to this year's prompt: Imagine you get to hang out with Goldy Gopher for a whole afternoon. What would you do? Where would you go?

The Homecoming Planning Team will review all applications for eligibility and completeness. To ensure absolute fairness, all eligible entries will be entered into a drawing and our eight Junior Royalty Court members will be selected at random.

All applicants will be contacted by Monday, October 5. Each winner should confirm their participation in the Homecoming Parade and half-time show of the Homecoming football game prior to the Homecoming Parade by Friday, October 9th. 

Eight winners will receive a Goldy crown and sash and will be featured as special guests in the University of Minnesota Homecoming Parade on Friday, October 23. Additionally, each winners will receive three Gopher Football tickets for the Homecoming Game on Saturday, October 24. Each Junior Royalty and one parent/guardian will have the opportunity to walk onto the field during halftime.
