Grand Marshal Andrea Hjelm
This year will feature Grand Marshal Andrea Hjelm, former Board of Directors Chair of the University of Minnesota Alumni Association.
Hjelm, president and owner of Moore Creative Talent, who received her bachelor's degree in language arts in 1965, is one of the University’s most enthusiastic supporters. She has volunteered her time and talent in many ways for the University of Minnesota Alumni Association and the Department of Athletics. As a past president of the Alumni Association’s National Board of Directors, she played an integral role in key projects, including bringing Gopher football back to campus. She has received many honors from the University, including the Alumni Service Award and the Distinguished Alumni Award. She, along with her husband, Ken, was the 2012 recipient of the Director’s Award, given by the Golden Gopher Fund to recognize outstanding generosity, service, and commitment to Gopher athletics and student-athletes. A former cheerleader and homecoming queen, Hjelm is a regular participant at Homecoming festivities.
Attendees are encouraged to park at the Oak Street Parking Ramp. The quickest way to access campus and the Oak Street Ramp will be to exit highway 94 at Huron Avenue and follow directional signage to the ramp. Please note: parking is limited around TCF Bank Stadium due to a Hockey Game in nearby Mariucci Arena. Visit the Parking and Transportation website for parking information and updated information on East Bank road construction. Standard event parking rates may apply.
