Borlaug Homecoming 5K

Sponsored by Project Food Security and the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFANS). Enjoy the scenic beauty of the St. Paul campus by participating in the 5K. This event is a tribute to Norman Borlaug, a University alumni who is known as the "Hunger Warrior" for his work and increasing food security around the world. All ages are welcome to participate in the 5K.

Thank U

Thank U is a philanthropic event, that operates under the motto of "One Community, One U". Thank U is an opportunity for participants to give back and thank the University of Minnesota's surrounding campus community. Participants attend a kickoff celebration beforehand which includes lunch, live musical entertainment, and activities; afterwards they go out into the community to complete unique service projects designed by community members and local organizations. Projects from last year included landscaping, gardening, painting, washing windows, cleaning- up neighborhoods and much more! All students, staff, faculty, alumni and their families are invited to participate in this day of service.

The annual Volleyball Tournament is hosted in partnership with Recreational Sports and is free and open to all students, staff, and faculty at the University of Minnesota.

Goldy's Homecoming Kickoff

Get together to celebrate the beginning of Homecoming week! The Front Plaza will be the host of Taste of Coffman where you will receive free snacks and treats, caricature artists, henna tattoos, and more!

Friday, October 17

Parade

Take part in the University’s longest standing Homecoming tradition! Find a spot along the street, or watch the parade from the Family Viewing Area located on University Avenue in the Cooke Hall semi-circle between Walnut Street SE and Church Street SE. The Family Viewing Area will feature bleachers for parade viewing, on-site restrooms, and free face painting, balloon animals, games and giveaways beginning at 6:30pm.

Homecoming Concert

The Homecoming concert takes place on the Friday before the big game in TCF Bank Stadium and welcomes nearly 10,000 students, alumni, faculty, employees and community members annually. Rain or shine, the concert will begin promptly at 8:30pm.

Ski-U-Mania

Be there to witness the official crowning of the Homecoming king and queen, the overall competition winners, hear from University of Minnesota dignitaries, and then head to the game and cheer the Gophers to victory as they bring Floyd home.
